Headphones and Audio Gear
When I’m by the computer or commuting, I usually find myself listening to music. Also, I fancy collecting music gear as much as listening itself, so my story of music gear is quite rich.
My current daily driver is the Earfun Tune Pro. It’s a very decent Bluetooth headphone with a dual driver setup. It offers a quite good sound signature, making it perfect for long commutes or work sessions. I also have the pair of Earfun Air Life Bluetooth IEMs. While they are cheap, they deliver good value for their price as a backup and are my go-to for bedtime listening.
Not so long ago, I restored my old Brainwavz HM3 headphones by 3d-printing a new headband because the old one was broken. So they’re back in business, ready to serve me again.
Truthear Hola IEMs is another pair of my wired headphones. I bought them because they’re indestructible and offer a very Harman-like sound signature.
The rest of my headphones have been sold, sometimes because I didn’t like them, sometimes from a usability standpoint, but mainly because I don’t have that much space and time for all of them.
My first proper headphones were the AKG K414p, I used them with the Creative Muvo Micro, one of the very first MP3 players I ever owned. On the MP3 player front, I also had the Rockboxed Sansa Fuze 1gen and **iPod Mini 2nd gen throughout time.
Having Brainwavz HM5 was in my mind since childhood. I finally bought them cheap but knew they needed just a little TLC to truly shine. And they delivered; it’s just a shame that using cabled headphones started to tire me.
I had Sennheiser HD560s for a while. They were perfect, but they had horrible channel imbalance, and I returned them and bought X2HRs. Philips X2HR were the 2nd set of open-back headphones, but they lacked some clarity in the midrange, and I sold them because of that reason. I also had Shure SRH440 - I always wanted some headphones that are tuned close to the Harman curve. I bought them for a bargain price, renovated them, used them happily, and sold them to make place for new headphones.

- Encore RockMaster OE - A decent pair of gaming headphones.
- Many IEMs that didn’t survive long.
